This qualification reflects the role of educators in early childhood education and care who work in regulated children’s education and care services in Australia. They support children’s wellbeing, and development in the context of an approved learning framework. Educators use a range of well-developed skills and knowledge using discretion and judgment when carrying out their work in the context of established policies and procedures. They may work independently or under the guidance of others, though in some contexts that guidance may not be on-site.
Early childhood educators work in long day care centres, family day care, pre-schools or kindergartens.

You can apply for the recognition of existing qualifications or skills, knowledge and experience (Credit and/or Recognition of Prior Learning). ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
There are no specific entry requirements for this qualification. However, ANIE has some generic entry requirements for the international students that include:
- 18 years of age or above at the time of enrolment
- Must have completed year 12 or equivalent
- IELTS overall band score 5.5 or more, or equivalent accredited English language test
- Participation in the Course Entry Interview and LLN (Language, Literacy and Numeracy) test, if applicable
MODE OF DELIVERY
This program is delivered face-to-face in the classroom.
Additionally, the student will complete minimum 160 hours of work placement in a regulated children’s education and care service in Australia to achieve this qualification.
COURSE DURATION
This qualification will be delivered over 52 weeks, including 40 weeks of training and assessment spread over 4 terms of 10 weeks each, that also includes minimum 160 hours of work placement component, and 12 weeks of holidays (3 weeks per term) over the whole duration.
UNITS OF COMPETENCY
Fifteen (15) core units and two (2) elective units are required for the award of the CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care. ANIE has selected the elective units according to the regulatory packaging rules and guided by the job outcomes sought, local industry requirements, and the complexity of skills appropriate to the AQF level of this qualification.

CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support is a course suitable for international students who are seeking to enter the early childhood education and care sector. Potential employment options for the graduates are as an Educator in an Early Childhood Education and Care setting.
Students who complete this course may wish to continue their education into the CHC50121 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or other higher education qualifications in early childhood education and care.
