HLTAID012 Provide first aid in an education and care setting
Our first aid courses help you learn life-saving skills and get a job.
The process is straightforward. Complete the theoretical component online at your own pace, attend a 5-hour practical session at our campus right next to Seven Hills train station, and receive your certificate via email on the same day.
If you work in an early childhood education and care setting in Australia, you may need this certification. This certification meets the requirement of the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) and also satisfies all requirements for first aid, anaphylaxis management, and emergency asthma training under the Education and Care Service National Law and the Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011).
HLTAID010 Provide basic emergency life support and HLTAID011 Provide First Aid units are the basic requirement for general workplace first aid compliance. HLTAID012 Provide first aid in an education and care setting is a requirement for work in educational and care settings, including childcare organisations, in Australia. Once achieved, competency in these 3 units remain valid for 36 months. That means, this certificate is valid for 3 years (36 months) in Australia.
Competency in HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation unit is valid for 1 year (12 months) Australia-wide. After 12 months from your current competency date, you can complete a CPR refresher course (standalone HLTAID009 unit only) to renew your currency in CPR for another 12 months.
The course is delivered in a blended mode, combining self-paced online learning with an on-campus, face-to-face practical assessment class. The entire process can be completed in a single day. Please carefully read the course process below.

Our next on-campus practical classes will be held on Saturday, 16 August 2025, and Saturday, 30 August 2025, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
COURSE PROCESS
- Enrol and complete your course with ease.
- To start the course, please fill out the First Aid Initial Enrolment Form.
- Pay the course fee and email us the information as explained in the Initial Enrolment Form.
- You will receive your login details for ANIE Learn, our Learning Management System.
- Review the training materials (read the study materials and watch the videos).
- Complete the Knowledge Assessment Tests.
- You MUST complete all learning activities and knowledge tests before attending your scheduled practical assessment class.
- You will receive an email notification with the date and time of your practical assessment class. Alternatively, you can call us during office hours or send email to us for this information.
- Attend the practical class at the ANIE campus at Seven Hills, conveniently located right next to the Seven Hills train station.
- The practical class typically takes up to 4 to 5 hours.
- Our assessor will complete the evaluation and you will receive your certificate (Statement of Attainment) by email.
